PMAC 22nd AGM: New members received; relationships updated

The Port Management Association of the Caribbean received Grand Port Maritime De La Martinique as a full member of the Association at its 22nd Annual General Meeting (AGM), June 26 – 28, 2019.

New Associate members, Maritime Port Management Systems (Port of Rotterdam), Certified Slings and Business Supply Source (BSS) were also formally welcomed to the Association at the 2019 AGM.

The AGM held at the Westin Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort, Florida, USA was hosted by BSS in association with Broward County Vice Mayor, Dale Holness.

PMAC used the opportunity provided by the AGM to acknowledge the contribution of specific members to the growth and development of the Association. In this regard, the Suriname Ports Management Company and CBCL Engineering Limited were recognized and celebrated for sustained support of PMAC initiatives, as Member and Associate Member, respectively.

The Association also extended Honorary Membership to Mr. Lenius Lendor, CEO BVI Ports Authority and former PMAC Chair.

Three long-standing cooperation pacts, documented in Memoranda of Understanding (MOU) were renewed and signed into existence at the 2019 AGM, by PMAC Vice Chairman, Darwin Telemaque and representatives of the respective organizations.

The MOU outlines the PMAC - Caribbean Maritime University relationship, first signed in June 2008 was updated and the new version signed by Professor Fitz Pinnock, President of the University.

The updated Memorandum of Understanding supporting cooperation between PMAC and the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States, initiated in June 2016 was signed by Jacqueline Emmanuel-Flood, Director EARDI.

The PMAC - CEI.BA relationship, initiated in June 2014 was also reviewed and updated. The revised document was signed by Sabine Bajazet, Communication, and External Affairs Manager.
